The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing and supporting the functional areas including, but not limited to, full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, personnel planning, career development initiatives, learning & development, employee retention and other HR Programs. This role will also support ad hoc HR projects as assigned.
The incumbent will report to the Senior Manager, Human Resources and will be based at head office of Subaru Canada, Inc. in Mississauga, Ontario.
The hiring range for this role is $78,000-$88,000 CAD. This hiring is to backfill a vacant position.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for full-cycle recruitment process including job postings, application reviews, interviews and pre-employment checks, employment offer negotiations etc.
- Create interview guides and consult business leaders on effective recruiting and interviewing tactics.
- Create the inventory of job descriptions, review and update periodically and when required.
- Draft employment contracts for various categories, salaries, hourly, interns/ co-ops; screen for legal enforceability and present offers to the candidates.
- Assist in developing strategies through data analysis for effective recruitment, involving job posting though diverse platforms facilitating internal and external recruitment.
- Stay current on legislation changes around recruitment and job postings.
- Engage with recruitment vendors and testing agencies; track related expenses.
- Develop and facilitate new-hire orientation and onboarding in coordination with business units.
- Coordinate with Payroll regarding new hire paperwork and any personnel changes.
- Participate and support other Talent Acquisition initiatives and projects such as career fairs etc.
- Provide analytical information on recruitment initiatives.
- Coordinate with business and HR leadership team to support career progression and role transitions.
- Gather information and provide analysis to support manpower planning.
- Facilitate periodic performance reviews companywide and support with employee queries.
- Create reports and share analytical feedback with the decision makers based on information collected through review system.
- Facilitate changes to the performance review system as per business needs and strategic requirements.
- Create and disseminate mass communications pertaining to performance, personnel changes and support other announcements.
- Responsible for completing compensation surveys and research on compensation trends.
- Responsible for creating and updating company’s organizational chart.
- Administer all related expenses, invoices and provide insights to support departmental budget planning.
- Support HR information systems transitions or updates as needed.
- Support HR team on initiatives such as employee engagement, learning & development, other programs and projects as required.
- Sustain and build vendor relationship, promote collaboration and continuous process improvement.
- Other duties and administrative tasks, as assigned.

Qualifications:
- University Degree in Business Management or Human Resources with 2-3 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience handling full-cycle recruitment, performance evaluation, is required.
- Exposure to compensation practices and surveys would be an asset.
- Experience in developing and executing HR programs required.
- Member of HRPA in good standing would be an asset.
Physical Conditions:
- Occasional overtime as required.
- Sitting and using a computer for extended hours.
- Travelling (5-7%) could be required.
